21st June - The Winter Solstice.

The winter solstice brings the shortest day and the longest night - of the year.
This is when the Sun is at its most Northerly point in the sky. At the middle of the day on June 21, it reaches its
lowest altitude, from the Northern horizon, for the year. It also means that the Sun rises at its most Northerly point
of East and sets at its most Northerly point of West.
